Tool & Die Maker

Job Summary: Entry-level position with primary responsibilities of performing die maintenance and assisting with die repairs and new tool builds by performing the following duties. Participates in the company?s Quality Initiatives including TS/ISO certification and maintenance of quality systems in place.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Checks tooling work order requests in the Manufacturing Software and selects project to work on based on assignment, priority, and due date.
Completes tooling work orders by cleaning tools, shimming, sharpening, and grinding
Does minor repairs as knowledge of manual machining tools and die repair knowledge is gained.
Assists with regular die maintenance including sharpening die blocks, repairing broken parts and other maintenance duties as skills are gained.
Responds to press/production calls for tooling issues, analyzes issue, and forms solution or determines to red tag the die and pull from press based on complexity of the issue.
Enters work orders into Manufacturing Software as necessary.
Assists with major repair and maintenance functions as necessary
Dismantles and reassembles tools for repair or maintenance
Verifies dimensions, clearances, and alignment of members and parts in die.

High School diploma or General Education Degree; some machining or tool & die experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Mathematical Skills: Strong skills in measurements in decimal and fraction form and GD&T. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to read and interpret Blue Prints.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to use Microsoft Office applications as well as Manufacturing Software.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
