Fenner Dunlop is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Lavonia, Georgia. This position serves as the primary HR point of contact for employees and plays a crucial role in supporting and executing the HR strategy to ensure the facility meets the company's overarching People goals. Perform full-cycle recruiting to fulfill staffing needs for different areas of business, as needed. Stays informed about industry trends and job market dynamics. Work closely with HR partners, hiring managers, and subject matter experts to gather relevant information to ensure a successful recruitment process. Craft clear, concise, and engaging job descriptions that accurately reflect the duties and requirements of each role through effective communication with hiring managers. Collaborate with compensation teams to ensure job descriptions align with the organization's compensation structure. Conduct pre-employment screening, applicant assessments, offer approval, extension, and negotiation, and pre-hire/new hire paperwork. Develop comprehensive new hire orientation schedules and prepares training documentation. Conduct orientation sessions and coordinates onboarding schedules in collaboration with hiring managers. Facilitate a seamless onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a positive introduction to the organization. Benefits, Training, and Employee Engagement:
Coordinate and execute employee engagement initiatives and events, including community outreach, recognition programs, volunteer activities, and training sessions. Support professional development opportunities and training programs for continuous employee growth. Facilitate a positive, productive, and collaborative work environment. Assist in compensation management and benefits administration, including open enrollment. Conduct exit interviews and ensures smooth transitions during employee departures. Provide guidance to employees related to leaves of absence, including benefit education, documentation, approval, tracking, and return to work processes. Administer the attendance tracking system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company attendance policies and procedures. Educate employees on the attendance policy, including expectations, procedures for requesting time off, and consequences for non-compliance. Monitor employee attendance records, identifying trends and addressing concerns with employees and management as needed. Communication & Customer Service:
Serve as the primary contact for employees, fielding questions and providing guidance on HR-related matters. Provide excellent customer service and effective communication with employees, ensuring timely and follow-up on their inquiries. Demonstrate a passion for customer service in their communication, consistently delivering support with a genuine desire to assist others. Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, ensuring a positive and responsive approach in all interactions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and meet the requirements of various departments. Draft and distribute internal communications, announcements, and reports requested by management. Employee Relations:
Support employee relations matters, such as investigations, corrective actions, dismissals, etc. Ensure equitable and consistent application of disciplinary actions, following established procedures and guidelines. Manage the performance management process, providing guidance to managers and employees on reviews, expectations, feedback, and strategies for improvement. Maintain accurate documentation of performance discussions and corrective actions, in line with company policies and legal standards. Review and update job descriptions to accurately reflect changing roles and responsibilities. Identify and address gaps, improvements, and maintenance needs related to company policies, handbooks, and processes. Ensure adherence to company policies and facilitates updates to maintain compliance. Project Management:
Collaborate with HR management to align HR initiatives with the overall business' People goals. Support the development and implementation of HR strategies to support organizational growth and effectiveness. Perform ad-hoc projects to support HR evolution needs, including but not limited to, employee engagement, internal communication, performance evaluation, automation, and digitization. Develop and manage project plans that include timelines, milestones, resource requirements, and defining roles and responsibilities of individuals involved in the project. Oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and effective implementation. HRIS and Digital Maintenance:
Maintain HRIS accuracy and policy adherence, encompassing job postings, descriptions, and employee changes. Manage employee records and changes in both digital and hard-copy formats. Generate regular KPI reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Additional
Responsibilities:
Prepare ad-hoc reports and presentations as requested. Provide support for other HR operations as necessary. Participate in cross-functional projects to support organizational goals. Ability and availability to adapt to schedule changes from time to time as directed by management, including willingness and readiness to work non-standard shifts (afternoons, nights, weekends) as dictated by employee and management needs. Maintain professional behavior when representing the company, including but not limited to, during working hours, traveling for business, on company/customer sites. Travel up to 10% to company and conference locations located throughout North America, including overnight travel. Ensure compliance with safety objectives and legal requirements in all completed work. Possess a valid driver's license and passport. Perform other duties as requested by Management. What You'll Need Required Education &
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or related field. Minimum 5 years of diverse Human Resources work experience. Minimum 3 years of experience working with a HRIS. Solid understanding and confidence in HR abilities. Strategic big picture thinker with strong analytical skills for actionable data-driven recommendations. Strong judgment, organizational, prioritization and follow-through skills. Excellent project management skills, with efficient organization and planning of work tasks. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and multitasking environment. Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to build positive rapport with all employees. Self-starter attitude with ability to work autonomously. Professional handling of confidential material and associated issues with discretion and tact. Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including confident presentation skills to large groups. Proactive, resourceful, and highly motivated team player.
